Empower Your Health

In 2024, Cathay developed its new health proposition - "Empower Your Health" - which consists of four dimensions: "organization, products, channels, and platforms." Centered around FitBack, a platform aimed to strengthen Cathay's health ecosystem, the initiative has given rise to the "Wellness Lab," the medical consulting team "Health Expert," and an array of spillover measures. The aim of the initiative is to improve policyholders' health and wellbeing and drive innovation in health promotion by developing a comprehensive health promotion system through products, services, and Cathay's digital platforms.

Employee Weight Loss Combined with Green Energy Philanthropy

The company has hosted a weight-loss contest for ten consecutive years, integrating employee health and weight loss with “green energy philanthropy.” Over the years, solar power plants have been donated to communities such as the Xinlaiyi Tribe in Pingtung and Dingshan Elementary School in Tainan. In total, employee participation has exceeded 100,000 instances, with more than 210,000 kilograms of weight lost.

The First Annual Report on Policyholders' Health

In 2024, Cathay Life published its first-ever Annual Report on Policyholders' Health, drawing insights from health data of its eight million policyholders. Analysis pointed to three major health advantages among Cathay Life policyholders:
・"Longer Life Expectancy": Policyholders lived, on average, three years longer than the national average
・"Superior Health Management": Avoidable mortality rate was lower among policyholders than the national rate of 167.4, indicating that policyholders received preventative care or timely treatment
・"Better Treatment Outcomes": The five-year cancer survival rate of policyholders is drastically better than the national average

Zero-Accident Academy

Cathay Century has established the insurance industry’s first comprehensive risk prevention education website in Taiwan, the “Zero-Accident Academy.” Dedicated to the long-term promotion of risk prevention education, it upholds both professional expertise in loss prevention and a spirit of public service, conveying to the public the concept of “loss prevention for all ages and comprehensive risk identification.”
Enhancing Public Physical and Mental Health

Since 2014, Cathay Life has been an industry pioneer in integrating insurance with health management. In addition to promoting value-added insurance policies, it has also provided diversified health services through the FitBack Health Bar. Viewing the enhancement of public health as part of its corporate social responsibility, the company advocates for insurance to move beyond “post-incident compensation” toward “proactive prevention.”

Supporting Employee Wellbeing

Cathay FHC and its subsidiaries have established operational guidelines such as "Safety and Health Work Guidelines," "Occupational Safety and Health Management Program," and "Occupational Safety and Health Management Guidelines." Cathay Life and CUB have implemented the ISO 45001 occupational safety and health management system. Our other subsidiaries also follow the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach in occupational safety and health management. Aim to create a safe work environment to facilitate the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees.

Supporting Children’s Healthy and Safe Growth

To foster the well-rounded development of Taiwan’s next generation, Cathay leverages its core financial expertise to promote sustainability topics in schools and strengthen students’ protection against risks.
